Women's Luncheon with Maribel

I am so sorry that I have not blogged in a while!  We have been super busy with school starting, the launch of new Bible Studies and Small Groups, and mission teams so I have had to put blogging on the back burner for a while.  Now I will play catch up!

Here are some pictures of a Women's Luncheon we did where we had Maribel, friend and local glass artist, come and share her work and her testimony.  We also had a panel from the church answer questions that were relevant to us and our faith.  It was a sweet time of fellowship for all of us and a great way to invite women in who might not otherwise come to church.  We had a great time!!

Horizon Kids Camp Fun!

We had a blast hosting the mission team from Columbia International University again this year!  They are always such a blessing and this year was no different.  They helped to lead our Horizon Kids Camp and it was a huge success!  They also served in Kids Club, at Christian Surfers and in Mata Platano cutting trails in the jungle---fun times with this great group!  Here are a few pictures from their time here with us!

A Dream Come True

December 14th was a special day in the lives of Porfirio and Yamilet, a couple that we have been very close to for 5 years now.  They have lived in "union libre" (lived together without being married) for 5 years, and when they gave their lives to Jesus they wanted to get married in obedience to God.  They have had a desire to serve together as a married couple, to glorify God with their marriage and to be an example to others by being obedient to God.  ("Union Libre" is VERY common here in Costa Rica.)  For the past 4 years they have prayed for the finances and paperwork to come through and for issues in Porifirio's past to be resolved so that they could move forward.  On December 14th, we were able to help make this dream a reality as we walked them down the aisle to commit their lives to one another as husband and wife.  What a truly emotional night this was and such a HUGE testimony to others of God's faithfulness and of the power of prayer.  We are so excited about what God has for this amazing couple and we are so blessed to be a part of their lives!

So Proud!

We are so proud of both Thomas and Jacob!  They just finished 3rd and 1st grades, and they were two of the top three final averages in the school!  We are overjoyed and so proud of all of their hard work this year!!  Now to enjoy the Christmas Season!!

Thanksgiving Meal at Horizon Church

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving meal as a church, and it was a great outreach to the community as well!!  We had over 200 people in attendance, and it was great food and great fellowship!!  We know that this is one way we can really reach out to our community with the love of Christ and we have already seen fruit from this night!!  Here are a few pictures....

School is Out!

The boys had their last day of school today so they are celebrating!!  I can't believe how fast this year flew by!  I also can't believe come February I will have a 4th grader and a 2nd grader!!!  The boys are excited about "summer" as are enjoying the Christmas Season here...
