Mission Team from Faith Baptist Church

We had a great week last week hosting a Mission Team from Faith Baptist Church in the Memphis, TN area!!!  They were such a blessing to the ministry and to our family!!  They hosted a block party for families at a local Spanish church where some of our friends are the Pastors.  Their congregation was so blessed and we had a great time ministering through crafts, face painting, games, inflatables, food, etc.  It was an awesome night of ministry!  They finished the final steps of the home of a needy family that our Men's Group has been serving.  They also helped us by doing work projects at the home we just purchased as we slowly get it ready to move in.  We were so blessed by their hearts to serve with us!!!  This is the second year they have served alongside us and we are so blessed by our partnership with them.  Thanks Faith Baptist---we love you!!!

Calvary Chapel Lexington Mission Team

We had a wonderful time last week hosting a mission team from Calvary Chapel Lexington in South Carolina!!  They came ready to serve and truly blessed us as a family as well as all those with whom they worked all week!!  They helped with Horizon Kids Camp which was a HUGE success!!  They also worked on our friend, Yahaira's, house as she is living in extreme poverty.  They put a new septic tank into her house;  built walls so they water doesn't enter in when it rains;  and they painted it her favorite color.  She cooked for them one day, and they enjoyed typical local cuisine over her outdoor stove.  They also did hair cuts, manicures and blood pressure and blood sugar tests on local children and adults. The team was such a great group with such amazing hearts of service and it was a wonderful week!!!!  Thank you CCL for an awesome week!!!!

Fun Times at School

We absolutely love the school, Las Nubes, where the boys attend!  We have met wonderful families and our kids have a great group of friends!!  We love the fact that they are learning in English and in Spanish and that they truly have a "world view" as they attend school with kids from all over the world.  The Costa Rican culture is so rich and each time there is a holiday all the students participate.  The kids recently celebrated the Annexation of Guanacaste where they served typical food and each class performed typical dances.  Yesterday, each class participated in the Science Fair and my boys had a blast!!!  Here are a few pictures of the festivities...

Fun at Horizon Kids Camp!!

We had a BLAST today at Horizon Kids Camp!  We have a mission team here from Calvary Chapel Lexington and this team plus our wonderful Horizon Church volunteers led an awesome Kids Camp today!!!  Our Children's Ministry Director, Dale, did an AMAZING job planning and coordinating the entire day and we had a great day of ministry!!  The goal of the camp was to reach out to English speaking families at both bilingual schools in town--ministering to them and sharing the love of Christ.  Most of these families are un-churched so this camp is a great way to reach them with the Truth of God and His Word.  Thanks to all of you who prayed---it truly was a special day!!
